A team of researchers and academics interested in observing Mexico's progress in the goal of saving thousands of lives, through the implementation of the National Road Safety Strategy 2011-2020.
On May 11, 2011, Mexico signed the National Road Safety Strategy, through which it committed to reducing deaths from traffic accidents by 50% by 2020 and reducing the number of injuries and disabilities from this cause.
The observatory is a tool for managing information on road safety, to monitor and share Mexico’s progress in meeting the goals set in the Decade of Action for Road Safety and objectives 3.6, road safety, and 11.2, Sustainable mobility, from the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development of the United Nations.
