Strengthening Chicago’s Youth

SCY

Initiative for the prevention of violence in Chicago and catalyst for innovation with a public health approach convened by the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital.

Strengthening Chicagos’s Youth is an organization that seeks to support, coordinate, and unite allies to promote policy and environmental changes to prevent violence before it occurs.

After many years with a problematic website, the solution we designed and developed for the SCY team was aimed at the following goals:

  1. Update the visual identity of the organization to align with that of Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital, its main funder, without losing its own essence.
  2. Clearly present the mission and objectives of the organization, as well as the dissemination of its agenda and events.
  3. Change the complex content management system, which almost no one on the team knew how to operate, for an intuitive one.
  4. Train the team in the use of your new site, allowing them to edit collaboratively and with greater flexibility.
  5. Use inclusive illustrative icons that represent people of different gender, race, age, and socioeconomic status.
